Booking flight

If you are intending to make a flight to/from Domodedovo (UUDD) or Sheremetyevo (UUEE), then you need to book a flight on this website. You can choose flights based on the real schedule, or to make a charter flight.

If you choose a scheduled flight, try your best to follow it accurately. CAUTION! Departure time in the booking system is the time of beginning of the push back procedure.

Charter flights can be booked in "Own Flights" sections. You need to choose the time at which you will depart/arrive.

You can also book a turnaround flight (if able).

At any time, you can manually cancel the flight booking in the section «My reservations»

If you intend to follow scheduled flight, write in your flight plan in “flight type” letter “S” (“scheduled”) and in remarks “RMK/BOOKED”

If you perform a charter flight (booked in “Own flights”) write in your flight plan “flight type” section letter “N” (“non-scheduled”) and in flight plan remarks “RMK/OWNFLIGHTS”

Those who due to any reason haven`t booked any of above said types of flight in flight plan have to write in flight type” section letter “N” (“non-scheduled”) and in flight plan remarks “RMK/BRIEFINGCHECKED”

CAUTION! In case of ignoring this conditions you risk to be not awarded the Aviation Celebration Award!

Parking places and ground procedures

If you perform a scheduled departure flight you must park your aircraft at the gate written in the booking system (use the “slew” mode to move your aircraft if unable to load at the prescribed gate). You can connect to the IVAO network not earlier than 30 minutes prior the departure time.

Those who arrive according to the schedule, you can occupy the gate 10 after the you have set the parking brakes (when on blocks).

Those who do not follow the schedule (charters) or those whose gate is occupied due to any reason we offer you the following stands:

UUEE: stands 1-10 near the terminal D; gates 47-53 in the terminal F; stands 54-88 (any other stand on the opposite side of the airport)

UUDD: any stands except gates 1-21 and stands 64-78

The engines startup is made on special startup points which placed on ground movement charts. An ATC will give you the necessary starting point during push back clearance. You will need to make push back to this point, only after that you are able to start the engines.

Flight Procedures

Flight procedures in the Russian Federation are not very different from the standards adopted in other world, except QFE and meters.

In addition to the standard instrument departures (SID) and arrivals (STAR),  there are transition routes in the Moscow area. Transition - is a route between the entrance/exit to the track of SID/STAR. You, as captain, should choose their own transition. Controller can change it only when necessary.

Do not descend on their own or if you are warned by your FMC (T/D). Request permission from ATC for that!

Leave the runway as soon as possible after landing. Use a high-speed taxiways. They can take you at speeds up to 60 knots. Remember that the landing intervals can be very small and you can disturb other pilots.

Please be polite. Do not interrupt each other's voice. Maintain 10-15 second wait to avoid accidentally break into a conversation during join into controller frequency.

Speed restrictions

The flight crews must maintain the following indicated airspeeds unless otherwise instructed by ATC:

− 290 ± 10 kts or Mach 0.8 (wichever is less) – below cruising level to FL250;

− 270 ± 10 kts – below FL250 to FL100;

− 250 ± 10 kts – below FL100; 

− 220 ± 10 kts – at transition level or below, up to the point at a distance of 12nm from the runway extremity; 

− after passing the point at a distance of 12 nm from the runway extremity reduce IAS to 170 ± 10 kts, flaps in the intermediate position, landing gear retracted. 

Landing configuration should be established shortly  prior to or over the point at a distance of 4.5 nm from the runway extremity, i.e. at this time the landing gear should be extended, the flaps set for landing, and the aircraft stabilized at a safe approach speed. 

Speed control is not applied in respect to aircraft which are at a distance of 8 km or less from the runway extremity on final approach. 

Charts

You must have a charts on a board. It’s unacceptable to perform any procedures in the airport without them. Real pilots don't fly without charts. So let's keep the spirit of the Real Flight Event ;-)

Sceneries

We have prepared a good, free and relevant sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, X and X-Plane. Are kindly requested to use them. But you can buy nice payware sceneries

We think that you will be uncomfortable if someone will not be there, where it should (stay in the terminal, taxiway or runway). Spend just 3 minutes of your time to download and install the scenery. Therefore, both you and we will get more fun from the event.

All sceneries are free. You don't need to purchase anything.

MTL and X-CSL

Make sure you have last release of MTL and X-CSL packages installed.

Otherwise you are will be unable to see all different beautiful liveries during RFE Moscow.

To download the last MTL release use MTL updater.

A full installation is recommended for optimal realism.

Metric system and QFE

Russian Federation uses the QFE and meters below transition level.

QFE (Q-code Field Elevation) - atmospheric pressure at the runway threshold (you see zero at altimeter). Be careful, all heights in meters below TL by QFE pressure. Make sure you are familiar with that.

Otherwise, anytime you can request QNH and altitudes (as well as feet) below TL if you are unable to comply QFE operations and heights.
